Jazz is the seventh studio album by the British rock band Queen. It was released on 10 November 1978 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States. The album's varying musical styles were alternately praised and criticised.

Jazz Juice: Detroit (Laurent Garnier remix). Laurent Garnier’s eight-minute remix is like auditory Valium (especially after the pace of that last track). It’s like waking up after the best sleep of your life, as it gently rocks you awake and transforms from soothing, ’80s-inspired synths to an electro dance party. So this track isn’t exactly a traditional remixm, but we felt it worthy of inclusion because not only is it a great track, but it was left off of the group’s debut album: Record Collection.

Without doubt my favourite release on my Precious Material label, Paul & Alex excelled when producing this blinding fusion of Techno and Drum N Bass, and still now it has a freshness about it which will always ensure its never forgotten, The EP also had two wonderful remixes from long term friend and magical producer Justice. A little story that you may find amusing regarding the remix by Laurent Garnier also featured on the EP, I have always been a massive fan of Laurent & his F Comm label, he had been supporting my label since its 1st release which is why I asked him to remix this for me, at that time he had just made Crispy Bacon, so when the first remix of Detroit landed on my desk I was so excited to hear it but after listening I was so dissapointed as it was not what I wanted or expected, so I rang Laurent to ask if he would mind going in on it again, he reluctantly did so, a week or so passed and the mix turned up but again I wasnt feeling it so had to ask him again which I can assure you he wasnt happy about, but once again agreed to do it again after a long session on the phone where I explained I wanted a mix that reflected the lush and deep sound that was the trademark of F Comm. Two weeks later he rang me and told me he was at Heathrow and could I come and pick him up, I was stunned, he said lets see you tell me to my face that this mix isnt good enough, so got him, drove him back to reading and played the mix, and this time it was exactly how I had always imagined it to be, simply wonderful. Laurent left that evening with loads of free tunes and a smile on his face, a few weeks later when the EP was released at the same time as Crispy Bacon, Muzik Mag put both tracks in there essential buys stating that these two tracks showed the two sides to Mr Garnier, he was chuffed to pieces and rang me to say he was so pleased I had pushed him to get what I wanted. The result a stunning 4 track EP for Precious Material tha tdeserves its palce in Drum N Bass history.
