Jordsjø has done nothing but have my mind blown, thanks to early material compiled on a double album, as well as Jord, now Nattfiolen. Amazing retro symphonic prog with elements of Nordic folk. Lots of analog keys, flute and vocals in Norwegian, this is truly up your alley if you enjoy band like Änglagård, White Willow, Tusmørke, Landberk and Sinkadus. Includes unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more. Purchasable with gift card. Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album.
Oslo-based sounds inspired by old horror movies, german synth music from the 70s, Swedish prog, fantasy novels and Norwegian nature. Jordsjø - I Momos Trädgård (Jord LP version). Bonus track on the "Jord" vinyl from 2017 released on Pancromatic Records in Norway
In their next album "Jordsj II", they retake the original path, but with less folk passages but a more aggressive edge that captured me as a fan. Their third release (Well, a joint album with the Norwegian Synth Project BREIDABLIK) . But the moment of truth came in January 2017 when they release the fantastic "Jord", a clearly Scandinavian album, with reminiscences of NGLAGRD, one of my top then desert island bands, but in this case apart of the pristine symphonic, they blend different sounds and styles that make the genre richer.
Jordsjø - Nattfiolen (demo 2018). Rainbow Rock Club 70's. In their next album "Jordsjo II", they retake the original path, but with less folk passages but a more aggressive edge that captured me as a fan. Their third release (Well, a joint album with the Norwegian Synth Project BREIDABLIK) "Songs From The Northern Wasteland" didn't impressed me as much, being that it was oriented towards Electronic Prog, a genre that I do. listen very often, but it was obvious that the magic touch was there and we only had to wait and see how they would evolve.
Jordsjø is a prog band from Oslo, Norway inspired by old horror movies, German 70s synth music, Norwegian jazz, campfires, Swedish folk music, fantasy novels and Norwegian nature. After last year’s critically acclaimed album Jord, the band is back with their second album Nattfiolen. The seven songs fit seamlessly into their nature romantic, murky and apocalyptic forest prog. A dreamy and warm sounding record, filled with acoustic guitars, flutes, tape echo, analogue synths and Hammond organ.
Jordsjø come from Oslo, Norway and are inspired by old horror movies, German 70s synth music, Swedish prog, fantasy novels and Norwegian nature. The band consists of t Håkon Oftung (Tusmørke, Black Magic) and drummer Kristian Frøland, and counts with the collaboration of Robert William Dall Frøseth on bass for one track. For what they consider their debut album, Jord is a very mature and consistent effort, filled with tasteful melodies and immersive soundscapes. So concludes the debut album from Jordsjø, and the only thing I can say is that I await eagerly for the next one. Tracklist: Over Vidda.
