Electrical Storm" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the fourth track on their second greatest hits compilation album, The Best of 1990–2000, and was released as a single on 21 October 2002. It was also one of the two new songs recorded for that album (the other one being "The Hands That Built America"). There are two versions of the song: the "Band Version", produced by Carl Glanville; and the "William Orbit Mix", produced by William Orbit.

Electrical Storm Electrical Storm Baby don't cry. Car alarm won't let you back to sleep You're kept awake dreaming someone elses dream Coffee is cold but it'll get you through Compromise that's nothing new to you. Let's see colours that have never been seen Let's go places no one else has been. You're in my mind all of the time I know that's not enough Well if the sky can crack there must be someway back To love and only love

Bono is comparing relationships to an electrical storm. Sure hope the weather will break soon" means hopefully the problems in the relationship will resolve. I think it captures a sense of unease I feel around the world, especially in America, an air of nervous anticipation.
