Shop Vinyl and CDs and complete your Pole collection. An absolutely incredible album broken down into a completely spastic and sporadic formula that to a certain point, may have little formula. Regardless, the bass pounds in a gentle, soothing manner through, while an abstract frame of mind completely overtakes your brain's version of a synthetic process and warps it down Stefan's odd rabbit hole. Open to trained minds will have no problem with this.

Stefan Betke (also known as pole for whatever reason) released his seventh studio album Steingarten in February 2007. Early on in his career he gained next to no critical acclaim, his music was often cited as either to strange or to sparse. On Steingarten Betke moves away from his textured ambient-pop style that was found on his first three records and he moves into a more disjointed, glitch-inspired sound. The opening number Warum features hand clapping, steady beats, a noise that sounds like it’s coming from a power plant, and a bass line consisting of two notes.

Winkelstreben, 05:04.

With his 2003 self-titled Pole album, Stefan Betke abandoned the minimalist glitch-dub of his previous three albums (and numerous singles and EPs) and embraced full-on overt beat construction, even going so far as to incorporate an MC/vocalist on some tracks in the form of positive rapper Fat Jon, at the risk of alienating his existing avant-inclined audience
